Create a Resume Site with WordPress – Theme
Pick a Theme
Making your site look great all starts with the theme. The theme is how your site will look and behave. WordPress has tons of great themes out there for you to try out and use for free. If you don’t have a site yet, see our other post to help you set that up. If you haven’t installed WordPress yes, see this post.
Note this post contains affiliate links. It doesn’t cost you anything extra to use these links, but it helps to support this blog.
Log into your WordPress account for your site.
On the left navigation, click the “Appearance” option. Now click the “Theme” option under that.
You should now see a page that displays all the currently installed Themes. WordPress comes with a few to start with.
Find the “Add New” button on this page and click it.
You should see a gallery showcasing available themes.
For this tutorial series, we will be using the Hestia theme from ThemeIsle.
Find the “Search themes” field on this page and search for “Hestia”. We want the one that only says “Hestia”.
Hover your mouse over the Hestia image and you should see an “Install” button appear. Click it.
It should only take a few seconds to install. Hover the image again and you should now see an “Activate” button. Click it.
The Hestia theme is now active on your site.
